As an experienced market researcher you'll drive the insights that will fuel growth for our existing and future games into the next decade.
You'll work at with iconic games like Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Boom Beach, and Hay Day. Your work will also help our new game teams launch the next global hit game, all this at one of the world’s most respected gaming companies.
The Market Research Lead role will lead game, player, and market research for existing and new games. You will work closely with game and marketing teams to understand their needs, build research roadmaps, recommend methodology, partner with external vendors to conduct research, and extract insights from the work to inform decisions.
The work will include game, player, market, and industry-based research to gain insights on:
Business and players’ impact of game features and updates
Player segmentation and motivations
Concept testing and product-to-market fit for new games
Market segmentation, targeting, and positioning
Brand/IP awareness and attribute tracking
Marketing campaign measurements
Industry trends and opportunities
Blue ocean opportunity exploration
And more…
This role will be critical in building a research foundation and discipline for Supercell that can be fast, nimble, and scale to support global games and launches. You will become the subject matter expert on research for Supercell.
Responsibilities
Be the thought leader and own the full discipline of product, player, market, and industry research (design, analyze, synthesize, and distribute insights)
Build and lead the internal research function for Supercell from the ground up
Collaborate with game teams, data science, and marketing to identify, structure, and prioritize high-priority business, game, and marketing questions that would be addressed by research.
Build and recommend appropriate research roadmap, methodology, and execute with partners to arrive at needed insights to drive decision-making.
Lead and manage the work of external research partners (e.g. user testing, surveys, and ethnographies)
Synthesize key learnings of complex quantitative and qualitative problems into concise, actionable insights for game and marketing teams.
Manage and share insights effectively with all the right stakeholders across the company
Ensure knowledge sharing and retention of all key learnings
Own monthly insights shared out on the mobile games market, players, and other key categories
Travel to Helsinki and regional offices to connect with game and marketing teams. Expect up to 25% of travel.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in consumer or market research
Expert in research methodologies, survey design, sampling distribution, analysis, and reporting.
Expert in crafting research findings into easily understood narratives and actionable insights
Extensive knowledge of research partners in the industry
Highly experienced in cross-functional team collaboration
Proficient in statistical analysis
Ability to drive and execute from top to bottom, from strategy to day-to-day execution
Ability to design survey and program surveys a plus
Knowledge of Qualtrics platform a plus
Proactiveness
Pragmatic approach to problem-solving
Passion for games and experience in mobile video games

While the salary range based on your background, skills, and experience for this position is $175k – $225k, your financial compensation model also consists of an annual bonus, RSU equity, and 401k.
